It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that at this time, Healing the Children Northeast, Inc. is unable to accept any cases for consideration under our International Inbound Program.  Due to the overwhelming request for assistance, we have only limited resources on hand to provide the advocacy to each case that comes before us.

Our organization is committed to providing access to health services that are otherwise unavailable and feel that our acceptance of additional cases, at this time, is irresponsible, as it would provide a false sense of hope.  Each case requires months of attention and we are currently faced with a backlog of cases and insufficient resources to manage the existing backlog. 

It is our deepest wish that you are able to find assistance elsewhere.

Our International Inbound Program provides the opportunity for children from different countries to come to the United States where they are matched up with specialized medical and surgical treatment.  Specialties include heart surgery, reconstructive surgery, orthopedic surgery, ENT surgery, Oncology, Maxillofacial and pediatric surgery, as well as general surgery.  In 2006, we arranged donated services for over 50 children from countries such as Guatemala, Ecuador, Eritrea, Paraguay, Peru, Honduras, Dominican Republic, Colombia, Nigeria, the Philippines and Pakistan.

While we are not currently accepting any new cases, we are working to provide care for an overwhelming amount of families.  If you are at all interested in hosting a child, please contact Faye Barry at fbarry@htcne.org or 860.355.1828 ext. 27, for more information.
